Lord Vetinari’s Dilemma

Ankh-Morpork at dusk from above, the river winding up through it past an island district and a tall tower. Geysers of blue, amber, green and red burst from the districts, fed by glowing pipes and brass pumping stations. One riverside district at the lower left stands dark.

Ankh-Morpork runs on pumps, wires, clacks towers and bridges, each built on the assumption that the others are working. When one stops, the city finds out what it was leaning on, in the wrong order and at the least convenient moment. The news reaches the Palace late from the districts that complain, and later still from the ones that do not. Lord Vetinari’s Dilemma is a game about sitting in the chair where that news arrives.

Disclaimer

The city is fictional and its numbers are invented. The loops are not, and the Patrician would like it noted that he did not design them. He merely declined to be surprised by them.
